Professional Bio
Colin Summers is an Associate Advisor at Bull Oak. He grew up in Northern California and moved to San Diego in 2017 to attend San Diego State University, where he earned his degree in Finance. During his time at SDSU, he studied abroad at the University of Mannheim Business School in Germany.
After graduating, Colin began his career as a Finance Analyst with the City of San Diego. Over six years, he worked on the city’s budget and financial oversight, developing and reviewing budgets for some of the city’s largest departments. That experience built a strong foundation in disciplined analysis and long-term planning.
Colin holds the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ designation, earned through UC Berkeley’s financial planning program. He is an active member of the Financial Planning Association’s San Diego chapter, where he provides pro-bono financial planning to individuals and families. He focuses on helping people bring clarity to complex financial decisions and build thoughtful plans that support both their near-term priorities and long-term goals.
